Community Learning Center

In 2009 Woodrow Wilson became an official Community Learning Center! This partnership between Woodrow Wilson, South Salt Lake Recreation and United Way has brought together an amazing mix of individuals whose desire it is to see each and every student succeed. A major goal of our CLC is to empower parents to become more involved in their child’s education. Through the Community Learning Center, Woodrow Wilson has been able to expand its academic enrichment opportunities for the students and has been able to create academic and recreation enrichment programming for parents. A Community Learning Center is…

Extended Hours
Extended Services
Extended Relationships
The school is the center of the community and is open to all families

Through the Community Learning Center our school is open from 7:30 in the morning to 7:30 at night. We offer a variety of services and programming for our families:

  • Beforeschool programming
  • Afterschool programming
  • English as a Second Language
  • Yoga
  • Learning for Life
  • Women’s Support Group

The Community Learning Center wishes to acknowledge all of the partners, organizations, and individuals who contribute to the successes of our CLC. The faculty and staff at Woodrow Wilson have been absolutely instrumental in getting the building ready, providing support and expertise. South Salt Lake Recreation Afterschool staff have been truly wonderful throughout this process as well! They have watched the Afterschool program continue to grow and have been flexible throughout the entire process. The English Skills Learning Center provides a great service for our families. They have trained and provided us with a phenomenal volunteer who teaches our ESL class two times a week. Along with Green Tree Yoga we have watched our Yoga program grow from 1 to 8 participants. Our Yoga instructor, Isabel, is so energetic and excited about the growth! Recently we have partnered with Learning for Life. They provide enrichment lessons each Wednesday evening for the youth while their parents are learning English and attending the Support Group. Their lessons are values based and provide the youth with additional tools to make the right decisions. Our Support Group is facilitated by two dedicated members of our community who are interested in strengthening our families.

The Community Learning Center is excited about all of the partnerships we have developed. There is a wonderful future ahead of us!
