WORKBASED LEARNING

 

Work Based Learning at Cottonwood High School provides students with the opportunity to learn about job and career options in a "hands on" setting. Students have the chance to explore their job interests and to see the link between work place skills and classes they are currently taking. Work Based Learning attempts to narrow the gap between theory and practice.

 

 

Program Objectives are to:

Apply classroom learning
Establish a clear connection between education & work
Explore possible careers
Improve post-graduation job prospects
Practice positive work habits & attitudes
Understand the expectations of the workplace
Leave school with a great focus reducing future educational costs
Establish professional contacts for future employment

Career Exploration Field Trips
Job Shadows
Internships
Lunch Time Speakers in the Career Center
Service Learning
