SEOP

Sophomores - Set Goals

An orientation is held for all 10th grade students before the beginning of each school year to introduce sophomores to the school, high school expectations, and general information. Students are introduced to Choices during a small group meeting with the Career Counselor through the Computer Technology class. All sophomores take an interest inventory and write a research paper on a career of their choice through English classes. Parents and students are scheduled for an individual SEOP meeting with their counselor to review their SEOP during November and December

Juniors - Decide

All 11th grade students meet with the Career Counselor during small group meetings held through American History classes third term. The presentation includes employment trends, job readiness, and technology training. Each student uses Choices to complete a scholarship and post secondary school search. Students and parents are scheduled for an individual SEOP appointment with their counselor during February and March to review the students' progress toward graduation and complete registration for the senior year.

Seniors - Apply

This meeting includes post secondary school application information, college deadlines, essays, financial aid, scholarships, recommendations, transcripts, resume writing, interviewing, and job search. Graduation credits and credit make-up options are reviewed. Portfolios are completed through English classes. Students and parents are scheduled for an individual meeting with their counselor during September and October.
