Luanne Coon - Teacher

Luanne Coon grew up in Magna and attended Cyprus High. She received her Bachelor's degree from Utah State University and a Master's degree from the University of Utah . Her first teaching assignment was at Valley Jr. High School teaching typewriting on Olympia manual typewriters. She has been at Cyprus since 1982 (the year the school was demolished and rebuilt). Changes in technology have required her to teach a wide variety of subjects over the years. She has been an advisor for pep club, cheerleaders, PLT, FBLA, and Yearbook. Luanne is married to Lynn Coon, who is also a Cyprus alumnus. They have three sons—Eric, Austin, and Joshua. In her spare time, Mrs. Coon likes to travel, golf, and work in the garden.
