Jerry Schaffer - Teacher
Jerry Schaffer is a member of the Cyprus High Math Department. He is entering his fifth year at Cyprus and beginning his 15th year of teaching. He taught eight years at Bonneville Jr. and two years at Matheson Jr.
Mr. Schaffer is a transplant to Utah. His parents’ families are originally from Missouri, and he grew up in several southern states. Though deeply proud of his southern heritage, Mr. Schaffer spent most of his school years in California and considers himself a Californian. He moved to Utah in 1989 to attend the University of Utah where he earned his B.S. in Mathematics.
In February of 1984, Mr. Schaffer met a wonderful girl, Tracy, in his high school U.S. History class. Though Tracy thought he was a little geeky, they married 4 years later. He and his wife have two children. Tyler is 15 and attends Grantsville High., and Tori is 11. Mr. Schaffer and his family live in Stansbury Park in near by Tooele County.
Mr. Schaffer likes to keep himself busy when away from school. His hobbies include cycling, woodworking, fishing, drawing and working on his LBC (Little British Car). His favorite vacation spots are Las Vegas and San Diego. He is also a huge U of U football fan and attends all the home games and some away games.
