Statement of Goals

In addition to the regular school program, Cyprus High School offers educational programs through an alternative after-school program.

  1. Increase academic achievements.
  2. Each student will increase their G.P.A. by .50.
  3. Meet or exceed district guidelines for increased S.A.T. scores.
  4. Increase student attendance from 94 percent to 95 percent.
  5. Promote and maintain a quality learning environment.
  6. Maintain a drug-free status for the school.
  7. Teachers will work to develop improved reading and writing skills in each discipline.
  8. Implement Project 2000, a program of patron and community support.

General Rules of Conduct

Students are expected to treat other students, teachers, staff, administration,, patrons and visitors to the school with respect.  Foul and/or abusive language, extortion, harassments, and fighting are not allowed.  Students who violate these rules are subject to suspension and parent conference for readmission to school.

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS:

  1. Be on time to all classes.
  2. Come prepared to and participate in all classes (this includes homework).
  3. Demonstrate acceptable behavior at all times.
  4. Be responsible for one's own actions.
  5. Pursue academic excellence in all disciplines.
  6. Demonstrate and model cultural sensitivity to all ethnic persuasions.
  7. Support and promote a democratic system that follows due process and protects the civil liberties of all individuals.
  8. Help maintain a clean and safe, healthy learning environment.
  9. Maintain acceptable citizenship marks.
  10. Promote and practice a healthy lifestyle, which includes a "drug-free" environment.

When these guidelines are met, the privilege of attending Cyprus High School will merit an outstanding learning experience rich in academic excellence which will prepare the student for higher education, social success, vocational skills and democratic values.

Non-compliance with these expectations will indicate disinterest in attending Cyprus High School.  Arrangements may be made to attend another institution or an alternate program.  Please refer to the behavior conduct code.
