As students make their plans to go to college or training schools after high school, the following points are suggested for consideration:

1. Utah public junior colleges, community colleges and applied technology training centers are open enrollment and need only a high school diploma for entrance.

2 Utah's four-year colleges and universities require three high school credits in science and two credits of math beyond Algebra I. The University of Utah also requires two years in a given foreign languageexperience.

3. Out-of-state colleges and universities vary in their entrance requirements. It is important for students and parents to be aware of prerequisites and standards at the out-of -state colleges they are considering.
