The counselors at Olympus High School attempt to meet with each of their students and student parents annually for planning and student support.

SEOP POLICY

Olympus High School supports the cooperative effort of students, parents, and school personnel to develop and implement a personalized Student Educational/Occupational Plan (SEOP) for secondary students in compliance with Utah State Code, 53A-1a-106, 53A-15-17a-131.8. The SEOP is an ongoing process, which incorporates student information and competencies in areas of Self Knowledge, Educational/Occupational Exploration and Educational/Career Planning, directed by the individual developmental needs of the student.

  1. The SEOP process includes the following components.
    a. Celebrating the student's accomplishments and strengths;
    b. Reviewing and assessing the student's interests, achievements, and goals;
    c. Planning, monitoring, and guidance of the student's education and career development.
  2. The SEOP conference will create a continuing partnership including the student, parent(s)/guardian(s), and school personnel.
  3. Students will have one individual SEOP conference and at least one small group SEOP conference per year.

SEOP meetings are scheduled by grade level with Seniors early in the school year, sophomores during November/December and juniors at beginning of second semester. Parents and students may make an SEOP appointment at any time, however, by contacting Mrs. Wangsgard in the counseling center. Phone: 646-5401
