MEETINGS
Our General PTSA Board Meetings for Olympus High are held on the second Thursday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in the Artspace. Everyone is invited to attend. They run about an hour to an hour and a half.
ACTIVITIES
IMMUNIZATIONS: Community Nursing Services will come to OHS again this year and give Hepatitis A & B, Tetanus & Diptheria, and Chicken Pox vaccinations at greatly reduced fees. All who need the shots are welcome. Students under age 18 need a signed consent form which can be obtained in the main office. Adult fees for the shots are higher than student fees.
HOPE FOR TOMORROW: This is our three-part health program that is new to Olympus High this year. The first part of the program will focus on mood disorders. Since one in every 4-5 individuals will suffer from some sort of mood disorder in their lifetime, we are all affected by these issues. We encourage all parents and interested individuals to attend our Parent/Community Forum to be held at Olympus High School on Wednesday, October 17 from seven to eight in the evening. Dr. Brent Scharman will be our keynote speaker. The PTSA's of Olympus and Skyline High Schools are offering this event in conjunction with NAMI-Utah (National Alliance of Mental Illness). The following day during school will include in-class assemblies with the same material being presented to our students at Olympus High School.
The second part of our HOPE FOR TOMORROW program will be held February 20th and 21st and will deal with eating disorders. The third part of this program will be held in April and will deal with addictive disorders. Please watch for more information on these valuable forums.
REFLECTIONS: The theme this year is, _____ Packets are in the main office and the deadline is November _____! Check with teachers to see if you can earn extra credit by entering Reflections.
