2005 - 2006 OLYMPUS HIGH SCHOOL PROFILE
Accredited by the Northwest Accrediting Association, Olympus High School is a public senior high school with grades 10, 11, and 12, located in suburban Salt Lake City. The student body numbers approximately 1,400 with an administrative, counseling, and teaching staff of 80 educators.
Since Olympus opened its doors in 1953, we have earned a reputation for academics achievement. In 1984-85 we were honored with an “Excellence-In- Achievement” Award by the Secondary School Recognition Program of the United States Department of Education. Since 1994, we have been a Utah “Centennial” and a “Community of Caring” school.

The school does not weight grades nor exclude subject in determining rank and GPA. The grades are numerically valued as follows:

Our students perform well above the state and national averages on all standardized testing. In 2004-2005 we had 4 National Merit Finalists, a 70% passing rate on all AP exams (528 tests taken in 2005), an ACT average composite score of 23.3, and our Stanford Achievement Basic Battery score was in the 72nd percentile.
We strive to offer a wide variety of classes for all students. Over 75% of the graduating seniors continue on to some type of higher education training.
