World Studies 2 (grades 10-12) – Semester (7110)
This course includes important developments in history, science, industry and
culture of the modern world from the Renaissance to the present.
Sculpture (grades 9-12) – Semester (1410)
Students learn basic sculpture, fabricating and casting techniques and have
opportunities to produce realistic and abstract forms in such materials as plaster,
clay, wood, stone, metal and plastic. Higher level thinking skills, divergent
production, and art criticism are also emphasized. Prerequisite: Art Foundations
2 (1012).
Ceramics (grades 9-12) – Semester (1330)
Students learn the basic procedures for preparing, kneading, forming, glazing
and firing ceramic clay. Skills are applied to hand-built and wheel-thrown functional
and decorative forms and to representational and abstract sculptural forms.
Students will develop the ability to make judgments about the aesthetic quality
of ceramic forms by using higher level thinking skills, divergent production,
and art criticism. Prerequisite: Art Foundations 2 (1012).
