Accounting 1 (grades 10-12) – Semester (2251)
Students will develop skills beginning with an understanding of the basic elements and concepts of double-entry accounting systems. Skills will include understanding the accounting cycle; entering transactions in journals; posting to ledgers; compiling end-of-period worksheets; adjusting and closing entries, statements and reports; completing banking activities and payroll systems; and writing and communication examples. Proficiency in the use of the touch system with the electronic calculator is suggested.


Accounting 2 (grades 10-12) – Semester (2252)
Students will develop advanced skills adding to those learned in Accounting 1. Additional concepts to be mastered include uncollectible accounts, depreciation on assets, interpretation of financial information, and notes and interest. Prerequisite:
Accounting 1 (2251).

Computer Technology (grades 9-12) – Semester (2420)
An introduction to computer application software that encompasses document processing, spreadsheets, and presentations. An
understanding of ethics and use of operating systems, information resources, and electronic mail is included. Skills gained will be
demonstrated by creating a project for a different content area. Prerequisite: A basic keyboarding skill.

Hospitality and Tourism is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of the hospitality and tourism industry--its development, individual segments and impact. Students will also receive training on Sabre, an on-line reservation system
