Child Care I (grades 11-12) – Year (8230)
Students prepare for child-related careers and develop parenting skills. On-site preschool experiences are a major component of the course. Recommended Prerequisite: Child Development (8140).


Child Care II (grades 11-12) – Year (8232)
Students participate in preparing and teaching lessons and materials for children in preschools and elementary schools. Experience varies with the high school site. Prerequisite: Child Care I (8230).

Food Service (grades 11-12) – Year (8220)
Students train for career opportunities in the food service industry. Quantity food preparation and employment skills are emphasized. Work release (COOP) credit may be available for students employed in food service. Recommended Prerequisite: one nutrition and foods class. The Food Service class that I am teaching is called ProStart (yes written that way without a space). ProStart is a national program sponsored by the National Restaurant Association (NRA), and supported in Utah by the Utah Restaurant Assoiciation. This class also focuses on restaurant management and not just the culinary side.
