.Mr. Johnson has been teaching at Taylorsville since the school opened in 1981. Students love his class because of "M.J.'s" innovative teaching tactics. He is also an excellent wrestling coach! He earned his B.S. from the University of Colorado in Boulder Colorado. While l serving as Taylorsville High’s wrestling coach, he has coached four Region Championship wrestling teams 1986, 1989, 1990 and 2003; coached four Granite District championship wrestling teams 1987, 1988, 1990, & 1994. Mr Johnson was a National Olympic Wrestling Finals Qualifier in 1972 and an All-American wrestler. He was Co-Captain of the Univ. of Colorado Wrestling Team in 1972.
Mr. Johnson says that his history program is a guided learning experience designed to meet the state requirements for High School graduation and have fun in gaining a knowledge of history. History is everything and everything has a history. He recommends that a student study history for 30 minutes a day just like the evening news
