Mrs. Vanden Akker came to Taylorsville High in 1994. She is a seasoned education professional with over 15 years experience in secondary public education systems. She has a Masters of Education Degree as well as Certification in Special Education, Criminology and Corrections, E.S.L., and Conflict Resolution (Communications, Mediation, Negotiation). She is highly skilled in program development and coordination as well as teacher training. She has particular expertise with “at-risk” populations, grant proposal writing and program management. She is recognized as a consummate professional who cares deeply for students.
Mrs. Vanden Akker is a business owner and consultant. She is the author and developer of Techniques For Tough Times TM. She is a certified instructor for the National Crisis Prevention Institute and for the National QPR Suicide Prevention Program. She is currently an executive board member for the First Lady Mary Kaye Huntsman Power In You Initiative.Mrs. VandenAkker teaches Warriors for Success at Taylorsville High.
