DISCLOSURE STATEMENT FOR TECHNOLOGY LIFE CAREERS (TLC)

The TLC program is based on three important standards:

Self-knowledge

Educational and Occupational Exploration

Career and Life Planning

Throughout the Applied Technology Education curriculum, students will explore many different occupations in business, marketing, family and consumer science, and technology. Students will gain a greater understanding of how the world works and what they can do to prepare for it. In addition, students will spend time gaining a greater understanding of themselves. What they like, dislike, wants, talents, abilities, and personalities. Students will spend approximately twelve weeks with each teacher. Mr. Pedersen for business; Ms. Sorensen for family and consumer science; and Mr. Cockrell for technology.

CLASSROOM RULES

Be in assigned seat and ready to work when the bell rings. Be courteous and respectful of the rights of others.
Do not use inappropriate language, behaviors, or writings. Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Do not, in any way, miss use the equipment.Observe all general safety rules and follow specific safety instruction for all equipment. When requested, give your full attention to the instructor.

GRADING

Grade is based on assignments, projects, simulations, and participation.

Late work will be accepted for five days following the students return to class. Full credit will be given for excused absences.

Unexcused absences will have a 50% deduction.

A 100 - 93%

A- 92 - 90%

B+ 89 - 86%
B 85 - 83%
B- 82 - 80%

C+ 79 - 76%
C 75 - 73%
C- 72 - 70%

D+ 69 - 66%
D 65 - 63%
D- 62 - 60%

F 59 - 0%

CITIZENSHIP

Citizenship will be determined as outlined in the Student Planner.
