Dear Parents and Students,
Granite School District has started using a web program called CANVAS. This program will one day replace individual teacher websites. Some teachers here at Brockbank Junior High have made the change to new program. I am one of those teachers. my old website will no longer contain any information about class or assignments. Everything has been moved to the CANVAS.
You can access the CANVAS program through the school web page or by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page. CANVAS offers many advantages over the old web page. We can post assignments, take tests, and communicate as a class. It also has a discussion board were I can post descriptions of what we are doing in class on a daily basis and can take comments from students and parents. I am very excited about using the CANVAS.
To access the CANVAS you need two peices of information. The first is the student number. Your student number is your user name. The password was created by the students. It is the same password used to access the computers here at school. I have no access to these passwords. Only the student knows their password. Once you have logged in to the CANVAS you can select the desired course for assignments, tests and discussions. CANVAS also has a section for grades. This feature is not fully funtional. In time it will be but for now grades will still be accessed through the GRADEBOOK program. The grades on CANVAS are NOT ACCURATE!
Online TOP TEN LISTS and topics can be found in the assignments section of the CANVAS.
There will be a learning curve as we begin to use the CANVAS but I truely feel that the benefits will be well worth it.
