MATH DEPARTMENT POLICIES
The following policies are department wide for Brockbank math teachers:
*All work must be done in pencil. Math teachers sell pencils for 10 cents. Proceeds are used to buy more pencils
Homework policies are set by the individual teachers, but there are general policies:
*Unfinished homework is not accepted
*On homework, all work and justification must be shown to receive credit
*Students are encouraged to bring a calculator to class. Each math teacher has a set of 30 scientific calculators available for student use. Because of theft, we do not encourage students to bring expensive graphing calculators.
*Students are required to have their math book covered. Paper bags make good covers and are available from your teacher.
*Math tutoring is available for all math students from 7:00 AM until 7:30 AM in S5 . Extra credit is available for students who use this resource.
*Throughout the course of the year teacher assistants are used to record scores of completed assignments on a grading sheet. Occasionally they will correct a quiz or assignment. Tests will always be corrected by and scores recorded by a teacher. Scores will never be read aloud.
