SMART PROGRAM DISCLOSURE

Course Description/Objective: Students will learn how to analyze the world from many viewpoints through the eyes of other peoples. The goal of the class is to create awareness and enthusiasm for learning about our world, while at the same time learning reading, writing, and speaking skills. English 1-2, World Geography, Earth Systems, and Teen Support & Literacy will be separate classes, however they will have integrated themes that link each content area.



HOW TO SUCCEED IN THIS CLASS:



1. ATTEND ALL CLASSES ON TIME.

2. BE PREPARED with book, assignments, pencil, pen, and paper. (Anything else desired for success)

3. TURN ASSIGNMENTS IN ON TIME.

4. PARTICIPATE RESPECTFULLY AND SENSITIVELY.

5. ENJOY LEARNING!!!



INSTRUCTORS COMMITMENT: I will be available for students and parents before school, after school, and at lunch. Appointments are not necessary but encouraged. I'm here to help you succeed. Lets make this a great learning experience for everyone.

GRADING POLICY:



93-100%=A 83-86%=B 73-76%=C 63-66%=D

90-92%=A- 80-82%=B- 70-72%=C- 60-62%=D-

87-89%=B+ 77-79%=C+ 67-69%=D+ 59% and below=F



1. All assignments must be neat and legible.



2. Typed papers must use 12-point font and standard margins.



3. Brockbank Jr. rules and citizenship policy will be enforced. (See Student Handbook)



4. Students are given two Hall Pass Coupons each quarter, coupons not used may be turned in for 20 points each toward the students grade.



5. Accommodations for diverse learners will be made available.
