Seventh Grade English: The Red Knights

Welcome to the Red Knights, where honor, compassion, respect, and honesty are more than words. Teaming creates a sense of belonging within the school community and fosters a learning environment that will make education real and useful.
We are looking forward to a great year!

Seventh grade teams are comprised of the four core classes: English, math, history, and science. The Red Knight Team consists of approximately 115 students who have the same core teachers and morning schedule. The team teachers work together in developing lessons and activities which are relevant to the entire group. More importantly, though, the team gives us a chance to better know your child and provide the consistency and integration so important to learning in the middle school setting.

Team Requirements
The team teachers maintain the same rules and grading scale, as outlined on the following disclosure statement. Please note that late work is not accepted, except in the case of excused absences.

Ninth Grade English

In ninth grade English, students are expected to perform on the high school level in reading and writing. Therefore, this class will focus on developing writing longer, more detailed manuscripts, such as reports and essays. In the area of reading, the material gets a lot tougher, with Shakespeare, Dumas, and Harper thrown into the mix. In ninth grade, students are required to read some of the most important works of fiction ever published. Homework will be assigned weekly and will usually consist of a writing assignment and assigned reading from class novels.
