Ninth Grade Earth Science Explores the earth, it's processes, and how it affects the inhabitants.  In this classroom students will be encouraged to expand their own interests and knowledge of these sciences by being active participants in the teaching and learning process.

In this classroom students will......

  • Develop an understanding of relationships as an organizing science concept common to all content areas.
  • Explore energy and it's relationship to the earth and it's inhabitants.
  • Use science as a process of obtaining knowledge based upon observable evidence.
  • Appreciate the intricate balance between earths systems and relate information from class into daily life experiences.
  • Oh yeah......Have Fun!!!!

Rules and Expectations
Follow all instructions.
Be in your seat when bell rings.
Come prepared with materials.
Respect yourself, others, and property.
Get permission to speak or leave seat.
Be responsible for all work.
No food, drink, or gum.

Warning.
Time out with contract.
Time out and parent contact.

Administrative referral.

Tardies and Citizenship

   Students are responsible for the school tardy and citizenship policy.

Hall Pass Policy
   Issued for emergency use only!  (Forgetting materials or assignments is not an emergency!)

Late Work Policy
  Assignments will not be accepted after the due date except for excused absences.

Grading Format
   Grades are determined by overall points earned by student.  Points will be weighted, percentages calculated, and grades assigned as follows.

93-100 = A 80-82 = B 66-69 = D+
90-92 = A- 76-79 = C+ 63-65 = D
86-89 = B+ 73-75 = C 60-62 = D-
83-85 = B 70-72 = C- 59-00 = F
