Assignments/Extra Credit/Late Work

All assignments for an entire month will be posted on my website (link from CJH homepage). Expect 1-2 nights of homework per week. Tests will be at the end of units, approximately every 2 or 3 weeks. Test dates can also be found on the web page. I do accept late work, but out of respect to those who finished on time only ½ credit will be given (I give two RainChecks per term, which when attached to the latework will keep me from taking off the half credit). I offer a few extra credit assignments during the term, but I will give weekly extra credit to students who fill out their planner completely and have it signed by a parent each week.

Grading/Citizenship

90-100 A's “+” and “-“ will fall within these ranges

80-89 B's

70-79 C's

60-69 D's

Below 60 F

Citizenship includes things such as tardies, attendance (i.e. sluffing), attitude, preparedness, participation and adherence to class procedures and rules. I follow the district policy of marking down citizenship for excessive tardies or unexcused absences. Tardies can be worked off (although not removed from the attendance record) as long as it isn't the last week before the end of term.

3 tardies= a 2 is the highest possible citizenship

4 tardies=a 1 is the highest possible citizenship

5 tardies or 1 or more unexcused absences =a zero in citizenship

Homework Help/ Office Hours

I am available before or after school if a student needs extra help or clarification on an assignment. If you have an excused absence, check the website for what was missed. Worksheets, notes and handouts can be printed from the website. It is the student's responsibility to find out what they missed. District policy states that a student may have 2 days for each excused absence to make up missed work (unexcused absences are unable to make up work).

I only teach part time and do the school's computers/networking the rest of the day. Parents, if you need to see me during the day, please email me and set up a time.
