Dress Code for Students
(or Dress for Success!)

Dress affects student attitude and the learning environment of others and we expect Eisenhower Jr. High students to dress for success. Our goal is to build a positive partnership between the school and parents to ensure that students dress for success and are in compliance with the school dress code. The following student dress code applies to all students. The purpose of this code is to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and to promote a positive learning environment.

The following are guidelines to assist parents in choosing appropriate school attire for student success. Parents are responsible to see that students are dressed properly for school. Students who are in violation of the approved dress code will be sent to the office and will either be sent home to change into acceptable attire or be suspended.

Appropriate school clothing must be clean, modest, well fitted and size appropriate. Athletic wear is not acceptable (i.e. athletic shorts, sweats, mesh gym shorts, warm-ups and jerseys) as is clothing displaying vulgar language, inappropriate pictures/ graphics, alcohol or cigarette advertising, illegal substances and other law breaking activities. (i.e. sexually oriented, gang or violence related, death/ gore depictions, Dickies, G-Unit, South Pole, plain colors: navy blue and red).

1) HATS, COATS, OUTERWEAR - Hats, full kerchiefs, bandanas and head scarves should not be worn at school. Coats, oversized shirts, insulated vests and gloves must be placed in locker upon entering the building.

2) SHIRTS:
Clothing needs to be of modest design. Absolutely no bare midriffs, low cut shirts or blouses, no bare backs, spaghetti straps, tank tops and no halter tops. Clothing cannot be excessively tight or oversized. Underwear cannot be visible and cleavage must be covered.

3) PANTS, SHORTS, SKIRTS:
No droopy (sagging or bagging) pants or clothing that reveals undergarments. Pants must fit around the waist appropriately and stay up without the use of a belt or rope. Pants cannot have pockets longer than 8 inches. Pajamas or hospital scrubs are not allowed. Skirts or shorts need to be fingertip length plus one inch (including slits in skirts).

4) FOOTWEAR:
Students must wear shoes with soles. No house slippers, unsafe footwear or Heelys (shoes with wheels). Footwear must be seasonally appropriate.

5) GYM CLOTHES FOR ALL STUDENTS:
Plain white or EJH Athletic T-shirt. Shorts or sweat pants must be plain navy or black (no stripes logos, prints or pockets). White socks and athletic gym shoes.

6) ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES:
- Chains, studs and spikes are not allowed.
- Clothing needs to be clean and cannot be mutilated. Gang-related clothing or items are not allowed (i.e. Sagging or oversized pants, monochromatic colors (black on black), nylon belts with silver initial belt buckles, shorts worn with knee high socks, cursive or Old English style lettering, shaved eyebrows, plain dark navy and red t-shirts as well as the following name brands: Dickies, South Pole.
- Belts must be appropriately sized and worn through the loops. Web belts are not allowed. Belts Buckles must be plain no - initials or symbols.
- Wrist/ sweat bands are not allowed.
- Hair color that is not a natural shade is not allowed. Distracting hairstyles or makeup are not allowed.
- Body piercing, tattoos, hairstyles, makeup or jewelry, pacifiers, or other items associated with the use of drugs are not allowed. Body Piercing which present safety hazards or distractions are not allowed.

NOTE: School administrators reserve the right to determine interpretation of all dress code items. Dress code rules may be modified or added as necessary by school officials.

La vestimenta afecta la actitud del estudiante y también el ambiente de aprendizaje de otros, por lo tanto esperemos que los estudiantes de Eisenhower Jr. High usen vestimenta apropiada para que tengan éxito en la vida. Nuestra meta es la de crear una camaradería entre los estudiantes y los padres para asegurarnos que los estudiantes vistan para ser exitosos y para que estén en cumplimiento con los códigos de vestimenta de la escuela. El siguiente código de vestimenta aplica a todos los estudiantes de esta escuela. El propósito de este código es de asegurar el bienestar y la seguridad de todos los estudiantes y promover un ambiente de aprendizaje positivo.

Lo siguiente son las directrices para ayudar a que los padres escojan la vestimenta apropiada para el éxito de su estudiante. Los padres son responsables de que sus estudiantes se vistan apropiadamente para la escuela. Los estudiantes que violan los códigos de la vestimenta apropiada serán enviados a la oficina y se enviaran a su casa para que se cambien la ropa por una aceptable, sino serán suspendidos.

La ropa apropiada en la escuela tiene que estar limpia, modesta, que tenga la talla apropiada a su tamaño. Las cosas graficas, fotos, ropa atlética y ropa que este relacionada con pandillas no se puede usar ( por ejemplo, las marcas Dickies, G-Unit, South Pole, y colores sólidos como
azul marino(oscuro) y rojos ).

" CAMISAS:
- Esta pieza de ropa tiene que ser de diseños modestos. No se permite la ropa que enseñe la barriga, blusas o camisas de escotes bajitos, también nada que enseñe la espalda desnuda. La ropa no puede ser extremadamente pegada al cuerpo, ni de tamaño demasiado grande(ancha). La ropa interior no puede estar visible. El escote bajito de las blusas o camisas debe ser tapado.

" PANTALONES, PANTALONES CORTOS, CAMISAS/BLUSAS:
- No pantalones anchos que cuelguen o que se pueda ver la ropa
interior. Los pantalones tienen que quedarle justo al tamaño de su cintura y que quede ajustado a su cintura sin la necesidad de un cinturón/correa o soga/cuerda. Los pantalones no pueden tener bolsillos de mas de 8 pulgadas de largo. Pijamas o ropa de hospital no son permitidas. Las faldas y los pantalones cortos tienen que quedar a la rodilla ( esto incluye la cortadura de las faldas )

" EL CALZADO/ZAPATOS:
Zapatos con suelas/plantas. No se permiten sandalias de uso hogareño,
calzado que no sea seguro o zapatacones. El calzado tiene que estar de
acuerdo con las inclemencias del tiempo.

" ROPA DE GIMNASIO PARA TODOS LOS ESTUDIANTES:
- Blanco sólido o la camiseta atlética de la escuela Eisenhower Jr.
High. Los pantalones cortos o los pantalones de fatiga tienen que ser de color azul oscuro o negro ( sin rayas, logos, imprimidos o bolsillos ).
Calcetines/medias blancas y zapatillas de gimnasio

" DIRECTRICES ADICIONALES:
- Cadenas, y cadenas de puntas afiladas y no afiladas, no son
permitidas.
La ropa tiene que estar limpia y no rota o mutilada. Ropa o artículos
relacionados con pandillas/gangas no son permitidos.
- Los cinturones/correas tienen que ser del tamaño de la cintura del
Estudiante y tiene que estar entrelazado/a por los eslabones de la
cintura del pantalón. El estilo araña de los/las cinturones/correas
no es permitido.
Las hebillas de las/los correas/cinturones no pueden tener
iniciales ni símbolos. (plain)
- Las pulseras de muñecas de mano de fatiga no son permitidas.
El color del pelo que no sea de tonalidad natural no es permitido.
- Los estilos de maquillaje y pelo que distraigan no son permitidos.
- Agujerados de cuerpo con anillas, tatuajes, estilos de pelo, maquillaje,
joyería, chupetes u otros artículos asociados o relacionados con
pandillas o el uso y abuso de las drogas no son permitidos.

NOTA: Los administradores de esta escuela se reservan el derecho
de determinar como se interpreta este código de vestimenta.
Los códigos de vestimenta pueden ser modificados,
también se le podrán añadir otras reglas como así lo crean
necesario los oficiales de esta escuela.
