Teen Living for Freshmen (9th Grade)
This semester course focuses on some of the issues facing today's teen. How to handle stress, making and keeping friends, problems of teen pregnancy, and how to break up with someone, are some of the issues covered. Does the order in which you were born really influence your personality? Innovative learning experiences reinforce classroom discussion. During the course you will practice your manners at the elegant Restaurant. You will also become a parent of a baby for a week. You even receive your own drivers licence at the end of the course!

Clothing (9th Grade)
This is a creativity and artistic expression course for Freshmen students that builds your own wardrobe. Make it and wear it, custom-designed to fit only you! Nothing is more rewarding than learning to sew. It's a skill for a lifetime in a class that is a win-win situation. Lab fee: $5.00

Food and Nutrition 1 (9th Grade)
Some things are meant to go together–like food, fitness and fun! This is the "Food and Fitness" course for Utah's Foods and Nutrition articulated curriculum. The importance of food in health and wellness is stressed to Freshman students. Learning is reinforced through field trips and lab experiences. Attention is given to problems with weight control, including fad diets and nutrition for athletes (sports nutrition). World hunger is brought into focus. Lab fee: $15.00

Beginning Foods and Nutrition - Life Skills (8th Grade)
Eighth Graders will learn the basic of food science by having fun preparing foods in a class that focuses on the same skills that can lead to an entry-level job in fast foods or other related industries. Field trips and job shadowing round out a laboratory-based curriculum that also transfers to real-life experiences preparing food for themselves and the family at home. This class is also a great hands-on experience to help students understand and apply math and science. Lab fee: $10.00
