Eisenhower Junior High (EJH) has about 1,000 students, nearly four dozen teachers and a dozen staff members, three counselors and three administrators. The school opened in 1974, and was named after Dwight D. Eisenhower, a Five Star General and the 34th President of the United States. Because of its namesake, EJH is the home of the "Generals".

The mission of EJH is to teach students how "To Think, To Learn, and To Care." The school motto is "I like Ike"--which was the campaign slogan of President Eisenhower-- and school colors are red, black and white.

Eisenhower stresses academic excellence in all areas of learning and encourages computer literacy and technology education. During the past three decades, Eisenhower has been recognized for its academic accomplishments (in both national competitions and advanced research projects), excellent literary publications, high-quality foreign language instruction and fine art and music productions, unique etiquette courses, top athletic achievements, multiple world records, and its service-oriented student government and generous studentbody. In 2008, the national Schools to Watch program recognized Eisenhower Jr. High for "being [a] top-notch school" that impacts "student achievement" and makes a "positive difference" in the lives of students.

Eisenhower has a diverse student population. Click here or here for more facts and statistics about Eisenhower Junior High. Click here for information and a map showing Eisenhower's current school boundaries.
