Manufacturing Classes & Information
Manufacturing 1 and 2 (Formerly "Woodworking")
This class is designed to help students understand the concepts,
principles and problems of industrial technology through
material processing. Students perform selected production
activities in processing principles as they apply to manufacturing.
This class may be taken for a semester (Manufacturing 1)
of for the entire year (Manufacturing 1-2). Students problem
solve and use creative thinking techniques through designing
and constructing projects using various materials. Students
receive instruction in the care and use of hand tools as
well as in the use and safe operation of power tools. Manufacturing
2 students select and design products that challenge their
problem solving abilities, producing items for personal
use and pride of accomplishment. Other aspects of industry
will also be covered during the course of the year--such
as mass production, electronics, and metal working. No prerequisite.
Fee: $25.00 minimum (or $25.00-$50.00 per semester depending
on cost of material for individual projects).
