Text Box: It’s hard to believe we’ve already completed our first quarter and are rapidly moving along toward the middle of the school year. So many things have happened and so many things are planned for our future. We’ve had choral and instrumental concerts, with more to come. Students learned about etiquette at LaCaille; science classes went on a field trip to Kennecott; we hosted parents and students for MESA night; 44% of all parents attended Parent Teacher conferences; we had the opportunity to meet the top paralympic athlete in the country, who will be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro this spring and will be having students set their Text Box: own goals to work toward finding their mountain or their “individual genius” and our access and drama students attended a play at Pioneer Theater. Our teachers continued their professional development activities as professional learning committees, school committees, setting their professional goals for the year and learning about new technology available to them. Meanwhile, students are involved daily in learning in the classrooms. I am amazed at all that happens at HJH on a daily basis. I have spent a lot of time in classrooms so far this year, either for a quick walk-through observation or a more intensive evaluation observation Text Box: with new teachers . I have once again been extremely impressed with the high quality, professionalism and dedication these hard working individuals demonstrate every day. Amazing things continue to go on here. Check out our website. Talk to your students. You’ll be as impressed as I am daily.
