Once again we welcome students back to a brand new school year. You can just feel the excitement of our new 7th graders and their first experience in junior high as well as that of our returning 8th and freshman students with their new schedules and teachers. So far, it has been a smooth start and we look forward to another great school year. As is generally the case, we are welcoming several new staff members to our school. Dixie Swiatocha will join us as the counseling secretary replacing Donna Patterson. Ms. Crocker is returning to our resource department after a one year leave of absence joined by Pat Evans as a half-time resource teacher. Teresa Goates comes to us from Granite High School in our Family and Consumer Science department and Ashley Hill replaces Lyndsey Guymon in our social studies department. Maricela Johnson replaces Christine Earl in math. We welcome them all to the greatest |

staff in the Granite School District and we know they will be wonderful additions to our community. As we begin the year, it’s important that we remind parents how very important their role is in their child’s educational success. Your support and encouragement are vital to our goal to provide the best education we can. Please take some time each day to check in with your child and see how their school day went. Talk with them about what they're learning, activities they participate in and follow up on homework and class projects that are assigned. Keep in touch with teachers via email if necessary and watch the web site and notes home to keep on top of school news and activities. Most importantly, let your child know regularly that education is the most important job in his/her life now and how successful they are, the more opportunities they will have in their futures. Together we can make this a great year of educational growth and successful educational |
