Penny Tyree   Penney Tyree - Health

This is my 30th year in teaching.  I have taught dance, gymnastics, P.E., Spanish and Health and was also the student dean at Hunter Junior High for 8 years.  I have been at Hunter since it was built and when the gym was just a hole in the ground.  Before coming to Hunter, I taught at Kennedy Junior High

I love spending time with my family, traveling, camping, reading, bicycling and practicing and teaching martial arts. I am also deeply involved with Granite Education Association and serve on the GEA Executive Board.  In my spare time (what's that????) I like to putter around in the garage, take my 1978 Cadillac Coupe Deville  to car shows, and sit and watch the world go by.

I plan to retire from teaching this year and want to go back to school  to take classes just because I can!  I also hope to travel.

I am a true U of U fan and a proud graduate of the U!  I have a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and a Master's degree in Recreation and Leisure so, I suppose you could say I have an education in knowing how to have a good time.

Josh Moore   Joshua Moore- Spanish

I am a recent graduate of Weber State University where I received degrees in Spanish and Art. This is my third year of licensed teaching. I majored in Spanish with an Art minor. I learned Spanish whild serving an LDS mission in Santiago, Chile. I am glad to be teaching Spanish. I believe that Spanish is one of the number one life skills that you can acquire and that it will certainly help when getting a job (whatever field it may be). Employers can teach you the trade, but can't necessarily teach you the language. So take advantage now, or you will kick yourself later on. In my spare time, I enjoy all types of sports. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and hiking the slot canyons of southern Utah. (If you haven't been, you are missing out!) I enjoy snowboarding and snowmobiling when I can afford it. I enjoy drawing and other arts when I find the time. With this year's recent addition to our family with my newborn daughter McKayla, I doubt I will have much of any hobbies but changing diapers!

I love to read, write, travel, spend time with my friends, backpack and go to the gym.  A perfect day for me would include an early morning jog around the park, a nice cup of coffee and a good book somewhere in the sun, and then a movie with friends.  I grew up in Salt Lake City and Oregon.  I have lived in France, Russia and Argentina.  I have a Masters Degree in Secondary Education and a Bachelors degree in English.  I love teaching junior high because the kids make me laugh and because it's challenging.  I've also taught English as a Second Language to elementary school kids and to adults.  But, junior high's my favorite!

Pat Albert

Pat Albert - Aide

I started working at Hunter Junior when my children were students here. I had volunteered for PTSA and was spending so much time at the school that I told the principal at that time that she should hire me so I could receive a paycheck because I was here so much. Thus began my employment at HJH. I have worked as a teacher aide for four years now. I was born in Logan, Utah and grew up in Bountiful attending Bountiful Junior High. My favorite subject was BOYS, a common junior high affliction. I graduated Utah Technical College with a clerical degree and worked in office management for 15 years.  When I had 3 children under the age of four, I retired to raise my children, unwilling to let other people raise them for my paycheck. My favorite things to do:  read fantasy books, watch movies with popcorn, raise tomoatoes to make homemade salsa, crochet, stamp cards, go camping with family and friends, ride 4 wheelers and waverunners, go snowmobiling and skiing in the winter, and eat mexican food. I love the color purple. I traveled across country in my motorhome to Virginia to visit family this summer.  Along the way I visited Mt. Rushmore, Washington D.C. and Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville.  I have one child in high school and one attending Snow College in her third year.  I have four dogs, 2 min pins, 1 rotwieller, 1 akita mix and a pond full of fish. Know anyone that wants gold fish?
