Tim Landis - Applied Technology Tim Landis teaches many classes such as TLC, Technology 1, Communications Technology, and Keyboarding. He has been teaching for sixteen years. He started right here at HJH in 1987. He went to college at BYU. He was born in Fort Lauderdale , Florida . He has lived in six states. His childhood hobbies were sports, mainly fishing. His junior high was South Plantation Junior High. Mr. Landis' favorite class in junior high was geography. If he could change anything about his junior high years, it would be his size. His family is probably what you'd expect: a mom, a dad, and three older brothers. He is married and he has two kids, a boy and a girl. He met his wife at BYU. |

Diana Peterson - Business and Computers Diana Peterson has taught at Hunter Junior for seven years now. She teaches CTE, Keyboarding/Word Processing, and Computer Technology. She was formerly a Post- Secondary Teacher, High School Teacher, and a Media Specialist for two elementary schools. She loves what she does and enjoys the students that she teaches: "There is always something to learn from them." She attended Montana State University where she started studying Home Economics but changed her major to business. She lived in Hawaii for a time. After she returned to Utah from Hawaii, she decided to teach elementary school, obtained a media endorsement, and managed two elementary libraries for five years (Fremont and Oakridge). As a junior high school student, she attended Great Falls East Junior High, where her favorite subject was Home Ec. If she could change anything about her junior high school years, she would pay more attention in class (instead of looking at all the boys). Her favorite author is Gerald Lund. She enjoys British mystery movies because they are less violent than the American ones. While not a big television fan, Ms. Peterson has lately been following Kitchen Nightmares. She has been married for 37 years and has three grown children and eight grandchildren. And of course, the most important member of the family is a golden retriever named Tanner. Joshua Moore- Spanish I am a recent graduate of Weber State University where I received degrees in Spanish and Art. This is my third year of licensed teaching. I majored in Spanish with an Art minor. I learned Spanish whild serving an LDS mission in Santiago, Chile. I am glad to be teaching Spanish. I believe that Spanish is one of the number one life skills that you can acquire and that it will certainly help when getting a job (whatever field it may be). Employers can teach you the trade, but can't necessarily teach you the language. So take advantage now, or you will kick yourself later on. In my spare time, I enjoy all types of sports. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and hiking the slot canyons of southern Utah. (If you haven't been, you are missing out!) I enjoy snowboarding and snowmobiling when I can afford it. I enjoy drawing and other arts when I find the time. With this year's recent addition to our family with my newborn daughter McKayla, I doubt I will have much of any hobbies but changing diapers! Lindsey Guymon - Social Studies Ms. Guymon is a graduate of BYU-Idaho and is endorsed in both history and English. This is her first year teaching and her first year here at Hunter Junior. She teaches 7th grade Utah history and 8th grade American history. As a teenager, she attended Mountain Ridge Junior High in Highland, Utah (Go Huskies!). Of course, history was her favorite subject . If she could do it over again, the one thing that she would change would be her behavior: "I would have acted more like myself and been more outgoing. Then I could have had more friends." Her advice to HJH students? "Just be yourself. People will like you a lot more if you act like yourself. No one likes a faker!" Ms. Guymon's husband, Bryon, is from Seattle, Washington and they have been married for two years now. He wants to be a lawyer. She is the third of six children and her brothers and sisters are her best friends. Her favorites: books, To Kill a Mockingbird, the Harry Potter series, and the Twilight series; author, J.K. Laurel LeGate - English I love to read, write, travel, spend time with my friends, backpack and go to the gym. A perfect day for me would include an early morning jog around the park, a nice cup of coffee and a good book somewhere in the sun, and then a movie with friends. I grew up in Salt Lake City and Oregon. I have lived in France, Russia and Argentina. I have a Masters Degree in Secondary Education and a Bachelors degree in English. I love teaching junior high because the kids make me laugh and because it's challenging. I've also taught English as a Second Language to elementary school kids and to adults. But, junior high's my favorite! |

Julie Christiansen - Integrated Science Ms. Christiansen is in her third year of teaching and in her third year at Hunter Junior High. She studied Biogeography at the University of Utah. As a junior high student, she attended Churchill Junior. P.E. was her favorite subject. If she could change anything about those years, she would raise her hand more instead of just saying the answer in her head. Her advice to our students is: Don't take life so seriously. Her favorite book is Dragon by Clive Cussler and her favorite TV shows are The Simpsons and Scrubs. She enjoys rock climbing and her favorite sport is skiing. She is getting married in 2008, so her name (all things going as planned) next year will be Mrs. Leri. (last update 11-27-07) |

Pat Albert - Aide I started working at Hunter Junior when my children were students here. I had volunteered for PTSA and was spending so much time at the school that I told the principal at that time that she should hire me so I could receive a paycheck because I was here so much. Thus began my employment at HJH. I have worked as a teacher aide for four years now. I was born in Logan, Utah and grew up in Bountiful attending Bountiful Junior High. My favorite subject was BOYS, a common junior high affliction. I graduated Utah Technical College with a clerical degree and worked in office management for 15 years. When I had 3 children under the age of four, I retired to raise my children, unwilling to let other people raise them for my paycheck. My favorite things to do: read fantasy books, watch movies with popcorn, raise tomoatoes to make homemade salsa, crochet, stamp cards, go camping with family and friends, ride 4 wheelers and waverunners, go snowmobiling and skiing in the winter, and eat mexican food. I love the color purple. I traveled across country in my motorhome to Virginia to visit family this summer. Along the way I visited Mt. Rushmore, Washington D.C. and Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. I have one child in high school and one attending Snow College in her third year. I have four dogs, 2 min pins, 1 rotwieller, 1 akita mix and a pond full of fish. Know anyone that wants gold fish?
