What is Peer Mediation?
Peer Mediation is a way to solve conflicts that lets both people say what happened and find a win-win solution.
Are there any adults involved?
An adult runs the program but most mediations are done by students.
What if I want an adult there?
An adult is always available.
How long does mediation take?
It depends on the conflict, usually 30 minutes or less.
How do I request a mediation?
Fill out a mediation request form and return it to the Counseling Office.
How fast will I get a responce?
Within a few days.
If I get called for mediation, am I in trouble?
No. Using mediation will help keep you out of trouble by addressing conflicts before they escalate into fights
Do I Have to do mediation?
No. Students often find it helpful to talk their conflitcs out.
Does it go on my record?
No and everything said is kept confidential.
