Events and Activities

Kickoff Reading Challenge
This year we have a goal of reading 9000 books. That's 1 book per student per month. Each student has received a reading challenge card from their advisory teacher. Students are encouraged to read one average sized book from the Kennedy Library within 15 differnt styles of literary work. Once a student is finished reading a book, they get a sticker from their advisory teacher to place on their reading card. We'll "take score" at the end of each term to see how the school is doing as a whole to reach our goal.
Pick up a book from the JFK library and go on a new adventure!
The book count at the end of 1st term was 748!! Keep up the good work!

Library Lunch Reading Program
L lunch time is a great opportunity for students to come down to the library and read without distraction. Students are welcome to come down Monday through Friday. We will also hold booktalks, book reviews, and book clubs in the near future.
Come join us!

Media Center Open after School
The media center is open after school on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Students can come in from 3:00 to 4:00 to read silently or work on individual homework. Come enjoy a quiet space afterschool and get a head start on homework before going home.!
