The Project, Year Two!
Last year, more than 3,500 middle and high school students nationwide have learned first hand that improving the environment is within their control and real change can take place -- one step at a time. These students participated in the Lexus Environmental Challenge, a program designed by Lexus and Scholastic to educate teens about the environment and empower them to create a better world. 120 of my students created 20 amazing projects. Six of these went on to win regional awards, and three teams won First Place nationwide.
I have again assigned the Eco Challenge to all of my Honors classes as a project to change the world and our community for the better. The prizes last year changed my students' lives, improved our school and made my classroom an amazing place. But for me it's even more about changing the world and my students' view of it. We CAN make a difference!
YOU CAN HELP! Part of students' entry score is based on their publicity and exposure. Please click the TAKE ACTION button to visit their websites and other media!
Thanks, as always, for you support,
