Hi

In this lab you will be testing some unknow white powders.  There are 8 samples of substances and as a class you must correctly identify each one.  Each team will complete a worksheet on their assigned powder.  While most of the substances are harmless, 2 of them may cause vomiting.  DO NOT even pretend to taste or eat ANY of them. When you do the flame test you will wear safety glasses or you will not participate.

You will;

•  Describe your sample in detail.
•  Take numerous pictures of it in detail using the microscope cameras
•  Burn your sample to see any chemical changes that may occur
•  Answer ALL questions on the worksheet by typing your answers in the appropriate boxes. 
•  After you take pictures of your samples you must import them into the appropriate box on the worksheet. Please resize them to fit the box! 
•  Save the document as a webpage.
•  Transfer the file (and folder) to my computer so I can grade it and post it to the internet.
•  Have fun doing all this in a respectable manner.

Double click on it and Microsoft Word will open. Type your team name, period and date then save it right away to your documents folder.  Call it powdersample#.doc (replace the # with your sample number). Do not forget to type your sample #.
