Hello, my name is David Rettie and I am the Principal of West Lake Junior High.  I am now in my fourth year as the Principal of West Lake Junior High.  I started my education career as a teacher at Olympus High School in 1982. I taught Physics and Mathematics at Olympus High for 11 years.  I spent 5 years as the Granite School District Science Specialist before going into Administration.  I was an Assistant Principal at Eisenhower Junior High (1998-1999), Granite Park Junior High (1999-2000), Hunter High School (2000-2005) and Cottonwood High School (Fall of 2005) before coming to West Lake Junior High in November 2005.
My wife is a 6th grade elementary school teacher in Jordan School District and we have two sons, one in 8th grade and one in 5th grade.  My hobbies are gardening, cooking, and spending time with my family.  When I was in high school and college, I was able to travel to all 50 states, the bordering Canadian Provinces, and I chaperoned two summer trips to the former Soviet Union with high school students from Olympus High.
