I think it would be nice if employee’s of Granite School District could be given the shot at no cost.

It would be nice. This is a grant intended for getting children immunized. We are simply hosting these clinics. As such, we don’t get to dictate recipients but are excited for our kids who will ultimately benefit. Employees will still have opportunities to get a flu shot during open enrollment fairs and the traditional means or can pay for the shot at the clinic. Thanks for your thoughts.

Does this mean school age children will be offered flu vaccinations at no cost?

The program is being administered by Community Nursing Services, which is a Preferred Provider and is contracted to directly bill a number of insurances. The vaccine may be available for uninsured children or children with Medicaid and Chip. Additionally, the clinic will accept cash or credit card for self-pay situations where an individual is not covered by insurance.

Cash price: $25 for flu shot, $30 for flu mist

Also, United Way of Salt Lake has partnered with the clinic and will be on site at a few of the locations to provide financial assistance to low income families.
