It takes a lot of preparation to successfully navigate a school year, even for Granite’s unsung heroes – custodians.
During the summer, 211 custodians from all across the district gathered to share ideas, attend training classes, and receive recognition and awards for their outstanding work.
Custodial Services secretary Jackie Bradshaw had this to say about one employee in particular:
“We would like to acknowledge Mark Hanson (head custodian at Moss Elementary) for being an honest, trustworthy person. Mark found $200 on the floor of one of the restrooms and turned it in to the custodian who had lost the money. Thank you, Mark.”
The group also praised the Wasatch Junior High custodial staff (Jay Dipo, Ross Nielsen, Kay McNeil, and Rocky Scholz) for their efforts to make the Professional Development Day a big success.
