What does it mean to give your personal best?
If you’re running a marathon or climbing a 14,000 ft. peak, the meaning is obvious. But what about for the little things you do everyday?
That’s the question swirling around the minds of students at Monroe Elementary, who are changing their perspective on basic school procedures. As such, Monroe staff is taking the time to recognize students who work hard and make a difference in the lunchroom, at recess, in class, and all other areas of the school.
Monroe recently had their first assembly in which students in all grade levels were given special recognition for their efforts in demonstrating exceptional behavior.
The program, titled Rising Leadership, is being spearheaded by social worker Kysa Osborne, who made sure parents were invited to see their children receive the awards in front of the whole school.
The awards will continue each month until the end of the school year.
