Even though KSL 5 News anchor Nadine Wimmer graduated from a different Olympus High School building than what students have today, she’ll always be a Titan.
That fact was made abundantly clear for scores of Olympus students who were given the opportunity to have a Q-and-A session with one of Utah’s most recognizable broadcasters.
Along with answering student questions about her vocation and professional experience, Nadine took the time to credit her former counselor at Olympus High for helping her to get a start in journalism.
While a student at Olympus, Nadine’s counselor encouraged her to call a professional in a career field that interested her and set up a job shadow.
“I was a junior, and I was terrified,” she said of the experience. “But I summoned the courage and called up Carole Mikita, who I work alongside with today.”
Nadine also recommended that students collect and master as many skills as possible in their career pursuits.
“The things you’re exploring now will guide your path for the future,” she said
