Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, catch the Liger by the … whatever you can get ahold of; he’s getting away!
The annual Liger Chase at Valley Junior High pits students against faculty in a race around the school and surrounding neighborhoods. The idea is to try to “catch” the school’s mascot – a fuzzy liger, who happens to have the advantage of cruising around in a car.
“I have challenged all students to the race, and reward those who can beat me with the choice of a t-shirt or cinch bag,” said Valley Junior High principal David Holt.
It must have been a slight blow to Mr. Holt’s running ego as a handful of quick-legged students crossed the finish line in front of their principal.
