The scene at Bonneville Junior High was one you’d expect from a boy band visit – stylish clothes, dance moves, and ear-piercing screams.
But this special concert during lunch wasn’t just about serenading teenagers with catchy lyrics; it was about spreading a “bully-proof” message.
“We’ve been called names, too,” said Afteromeo member Jayk Purdy. “But it doesn’t matter because we get to do what we want to do.”
Calling on certain students, the band challenged the group to “lead by example” in lifting other students and refraining from bullying in any form.
The message resonated with the students, who responded with cheers and praise.
