Neil Armstrong Academy principal Tyler Howe was left in the dark as to what would happen during an assembly that was scheduled at short notice by the superintendent.
That’s exactly the way Dr. Bates wanted it.
Mr. Howe was intentionally uninformed because he was the recipient of some special recognition during Principal’s Week. With the help of the Granite Education Foundation, Mr. Howe received gifts and applause in front of the entire school.
Some weeks ago, the Communications Office solicited nominations for an outstanding principal. Here are just a few we received from parents and teachers about Tyler Howe:
“Mr. Howe is one of those unique individuals that you truly believe LOVES his job.”
“Mr. Howe has been breaking the mold of what a elementary school principal can do.”
“He us so fun-loving and really gets involved with the student body and all their activities.”
“It means so much to us as a family to see that our principal takes such personal interest in the safety, success and well-being of each child.”
