Administrators and teachers at Bennion Junior High School are adding the words kindness, trust, honor, responsibility, and determination to the list of required vocabulary terms.
As part of the “Kindness is Cool” campaign at Bennion, students will be introduced to a set of common virtues during the first week of each month. Throughout each day, teachers and staff will facilitate discussions about each virtue with students.
“We wanted to start this campaign to help further our student body in showing more kindness to their peers, and to learn how positive virtues can be an asset to them in their lives,” said Bennion Junior High assistant principal Shari Bradley.
As students begin to demonstrate the virtues in any capacity, they earn recognition certificates and bracelets on their way to an end-of-term social.
“We want all students and parents coming into this school to notice a positive environment, which will lend itself to a better learning and teaching environment for all,” Shari said.
