Six elementary teachers received surprise visits from Granite Education Foundation, awarding them with GEF’s Cash for Classrooms Grants last week. These grants provide funds for supplies needed by educators that are beyond what is provided by the district.
Fox Hills Elementary teachers Marsha Craven, Ruth Hagan, Joan Johnson, Margaret Miller, and Tamara Wright each received a GEF Cash for Classrooms Grant for projects ranging from atlases to National Geographic Magazines.
Patti White, 6th grade teacher at Morningside Elementary, received GEF’s Innovative Cash for Classrooms Grant for a project her class is working on called “S.P.A.R.K. (Saving Power And Reducing Kilowatts).”
Granite Education Foundation runs its Cash for Classrooms Grant twice a year. Look for the grant to come around again in the spring. Visit granitekids.org.
