West Lake Junior High principal Isaiah (Ike) Spencer was named the 2013 Educator of the Year by the Iota Iota Iota Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity as part of the organization’s 2013 Achievement Awards.
“I’ve been watching Ike for a long time,” said Omega Psi Phi representative Dr. William Smith. “He represents the principles of manhood, scholarship, perseverance, and uplift that we hold dear.”
Mr. Spencer was honored for the award during a recent West Lake faculty meeting, where he received an ovation from teachers and staff.
“I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing,” he said. “I want all kids to have the same opportunities has my kids had.”
Mr. Spencer was also recognized at the Omega Psi Phi Achievement Award ceremony at the University of Utah. Congratulations, Mr. Spencer!
