Sixth-grader Colton Green watched with a smile as his peers and teachers at Morningside Elementary let their hair down – or, should we say let their hair fall to the ground.
As part of “Colton Green Day” at Morningside, several students and staff wore green hats and clothes to show support for Colton in his bout with bone cancer. In an additional display of unity, more than 30 teachers and students shaved their heads or donated strands of hair to the Locks of Love organization.
Even Morningside principal Tod Cracroft had his hair shaved off by none other than Colton himself.

I’m still amazed at the great love and concern so many at our school have for their classmate, Colton. Our school just got a lot better looking! Way to go, everyone!
