It’s become a tradition for second-graders at Crestview Elementary to bundle up and march through the neighborhood this time of year to bring some extra holiday cheer to elderly residents.
It’s a caroling scene unlike any other – dozens of young students filling driveways and sidewalks singing songs in unison to overwhelmed neighbors who stand with smiles on their doorsteps.
“Every year we as teachers see the joy of service come alive in our students,” said Crestview second grade teacher Heidi Jones. “They reach outside themselves to bless the lives of others at such a wonderful time of the year.”
The students also deliver a loaf of bread donated by the Crestview PTA to each home they visit.
