Granite School District’s Director of Educational Equity was one of five recipients of the 2013 Human Rights Awards by the Utah School Counselor Association.
Charlene Lui was honored for her work as an advocate for equity and the advancement of multicultural education. Here’s an excerpt from the Association:
Lui serves as a member of the Coalition of Minorities Advisory Committee (CMAC). She is a nationally certified senior level REACH (Respecting Ethnic and Cultural Heritage) trainer and Region 8 Director for NAME (National Association of Multicultural Education). She also serves as president of the Mainland Council Association for Hawaiian Civic Clubs.
