If you asked Matheson Junior High assistant principal Scott Bell what the definition of a hero is, he may just tell you to take glance in the mirror.
“Each and every one of us can be a hero to others and ourselves,” he said.
For many students, teachers and staff at Matheson, their list of heroes includes, among others, former principal Marijean Woolf.
Marijean, who served as principal at Matheson from 2006-2014, was honored at the school’s yearly Heroes Assembly along with emergency and military personnel from the community.
Student body officers, cheerleaders and administrators approached the podium one-by-one and explained the qualities that make Marijean a hero. Words like “Dedication,” “Helpful,” “Inspiring,” and “Patient” were repeated numerous times.
“I have loved every single minute I’ve spent with you,” she said to the crowd.

Glad you were honored from the students. You will be missed I am sure.
