A team of talented high school students went up against some of the brightest young math minds in the country during a recent competition that tested the limits of mathematical proficiency.
The Four-by-Four Competition sponsored by National Assessment & Testing presents four math problems to teams of four students during a 10-minute window. Teams must decide who will work on each problem, and must balance time between checking one another’s answers and solving all four questions.
After results from schools around the nation were double-checked, the team of Wyatt Mackay, Steven Deng, William Li, and Shravan Parthasarathy placed 21st overall in the competition.
