Several GSD students have received widespread attention for their academic talent in multiple fields.
Three students qualified as candidates for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, which recognizes “some of our nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors.” Approximately 3,000 seniors from across the country were chosen this year, including:
Wyatt Mackey – Skyline High School
Rajdeep Trilokekar – Skyline High School
Ivan Zaitsev – Skyline High School
The 2014 Sterling Scholar Awards wrapped up last week with an award ceremony for regional winners in several academic categories.
Shannon May Brown of Skyline High School was named the Wasatch Region winner in Instrumental Music. Shannon’s awards and accomplishments include being Skyline’s National Honor Society president, concert master/section leader of Young Artist Chamber Players, and Skyline Strings founder and president.
Wyatt Mackey received a runner up nod in Mathematics.
